For the majority of people, CBD is considered to be an effective alternative to the current treatments for a wide range of ailments and diseases. It’s legal to market CBD under the terms “clonazepam” or “bathtub dilate’ or “bath salts” in some countries which includes the United States. The major distinction between CBD and THC is that CBD does not cause any of the negative unwanted side effects associated with cannabis usage. CBD is also known to not affect the heart rate, blood pressure, or body temperature. However, since CBD is not a weed like cannabis and THC, it is believed to be safer than THC. There is some evidence suggesting that CBD may have a beneficial effect on memory loss, but this is still to be confirmed. There is also some concern that long-term use of cannabidiol could cause schizophrenia and schizophrenia, a condition with no evidence to support its existence in patients.

Recently, a substance called L-theanine was identified as an alternative to CBD and THC. L-theanine is an amino acid that is produced by the Larginine gene is believed to be as effective in treating schizophrenia as CBD. L-theanine is thought to work by removing glutamate receptors from the glial cells (cells that make glial cell). Glutamate is believed to contribute to the symptoms of schizophrenia because it causes an imbalance in the excitatory neurotransmission. By removing the glutamate “receptors” L-theanine is believed to reduce the symptoms of schizophrenia.

In addition to reducing glutamate levels, L-theanine is believed to decrease the activity of what is called “GABA” (gamma-aminobutyric acid) in the brain. If there is no GABA or with no GABA, the levels of “acetylcholine” are believed to rise. Acetylcholine may play an important role in controlling ” anxiety ” sleep ” in patients suffering from multiple sclerosis. Clinical trials are currently underway to determine the effects of L theanine on anxiety and other signs. The studies will give information on whether L-theanine is an appropriate addition to the treatment currently being offered to patients with MS.
